September 1999: During a shows the market Botanical Gardens found in REA sale by Mr. Foxi (which is an active farmer and avid collector of succulents) this little gem. I was immediately attracted by the beauty of the plugs and the stability of the body. For a few lire (then) took it home with me.

's been 11 years and that same undaunted Denmoza keeps me company, as if indifferent to external events. Currently measure 12 cm in diameter and I have to admit that only a few other examples have this rate of growth combined with extreme robustness.
As the plant grows grows in height (with due calm) and fuchsia flowers, elongated and asymmetric, appear only on copies of a certain age, at least a foot high. But in this case the bloom really goes into the background as the attention is focused on spination: sturdy, clean and above all changing color, when dry, the thorns are an anonymous gray ...
> ... but as they are wet turn a beautiful red rust!
